- : Your A1200 is NOT accelerated if it has a 020, that's a STOCK A1200 processor,
- : If i had a 030/040/ or a 060 THEN is would be accelerated.
-
- : If you want to Upgrade to the 3.1 ROM's, Go and BUY some 3.1 A1200 Kickstart
- : ROM's! Open your Computer, Unplug the old 3.0 Kickstart ROM's and plug in the
- : New 3.1 Kickstart ROM's. I personally don't see any reson to do that. If you
- : really want to spend all that Extra money for much of nothen. When 3.1 Came
- : out that was Mainly a Upgrade for all the older Non-AGA Amiga's. There are
- : some small Improvments, You can get most by just Upgrading your Workbench to
- : 3.1 and keep using the 3.0 ROM's. I've been that way since 3.1 had come out,
- : and have had NO problems. At this late in time I would think waiting for The
- : Next Major System Upgrade 4.0 would be a better bet. A Complete A1200 3.1
- : Upgrade with Software/Manual/ amd Kickstart ROM's in in the $150 US price
- : range.
-
- : Just BUY a Amiga Mag and Start calling around to see who has them for Sale and
- : how Much if you really want to. It's not all that hard to do.

- I have a used complete 3.1 kit for the A1200 (original box, manuals,
- disks, and roms) for $110. It's a simple to install, just flip your
- A1200 over, unscrew the main screws around the outside (don't mind
- the Commodore Warranty sticker - it never meant much even when they
- were in business), pop the top off the machine, pull the keyboard
- towards the back of the machine, you'll see an area in the middle
- of the machine with two roms. Just gently pry them out with a
- screw driver and pop the new ones in. Then install the 3.1 disks
- on your system, and away you go!
